Iran’s Historic Military Aircraft Destroyed by Israel and the U.S.

Numerous historic aircraft belonging to the Iranian Air Force and Navy were destroyed in airstrikes carried out by Israel and the United States. Among those lost were eight F-4D aircraft, used only for pilot training, the last flyable F-14A Tomcats, and historic Boeing 707-3J9C aircraft. Additionally, Iran’s losses included its final KC-707, KC-747, and RC-707 aircraft, as well as six C-130E/Hs and three Il-76TD aircraft.

In the early days of the conflict, the Iranian Air Force had planned to send some of its aircraft to Pakistan for safekeeping. However, the Islamic regime decided to keep these valuable assets within Iran, preventing their preservation and leading to the destruction of most of them.

The regime’s decision to sacrifice Iran’s historical heritage and national assets in an ideological battle against Israel has become the subject of significant criticism. These aircraft, of great importance to the Iranian people, became a symbol of the regime’s survival struggle.
